On April 24, a press conference dedicated to the international patriotic historical and educational action “Victory Dictation” was held at the “Rossiya Segodnya” news agency.
Yevgeny Primakov, Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, said that the action will be held in Russian Houses, Russian embassies and general consulates, as well as partner sites and even at Baikonur.
The Head of the Agency noted that this year the “Victory Dictation” will be held in 60 countries of the world at 227 sites. For the first time Albania, Bangladesh, Great Britain, Zambia, Morocco, Malaysia, Qatar, Congo, Cuba, Luxembourg, Nicaragua, UAE, Pakistan, Chile, Ethiopia, and Zambia will join the event. The tasks for the offline format are translated into 8 languages: English, French, Spanish, Polish, Serbian, Mongolian, Chinese and Greek. In Belgium, the “Victory Dictation” will be held in 3 languages at once: Russian, English and French.
Yevgeny Primakov emphasized that this year the questions were reworked for a foreign audience. In the test, out of 25 questions, only 15 questions relate to the general history of the Great Patriotic War, 10 questions relate to the contribution of different countries to the common victory over fascism. In 36 countries, questions concerning their state’s participation in World War II were specially developed and added in cooperation with local historians.
The winners will be awarded honorary certificates, and 20 winners from among young compatriots aged 14 to 19 will be able to take part in a special visit of the Rossotrudnichestvo program “Hello, Russia!” to Samara in August 2024. The event was also attended by Sergey Naryshkin, Chairman of the Russian Historical Society and Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation, Sergey Kravtsov, Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, Alexander Khinshtein, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications, Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Co-Chairman of the Russian Historical Society, Olga Zanko, Chairman of the Central Headquarters of the All-Russian Public Movement “Volunteers of Victory”, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on the Development of Civil Society, Public and Religious Associations.
