On September 28, an online meeting “Day of the Public Council at Rossotrudnichestvo” was held at the sites of the Russian Houses abroad. First Deputy Chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, Chairman of the Council of the Regional Cinema Support Fund, Chairman of the Commission for Cultural Cooperation of the Public Council at Rossotrudnichestvo Larisa Solonitsyna told why the films of the fund are relevant for showing in different countries of the world.
The speaker noted that she sees one of the main tasks of Russian cinema — the decentralization of production. It is important that films are made not only by Moscow and St. Petersburg cinematographers. The Regional Cinema Support Fund solves this issue by helping local residents to shoot documentary stories about people around. “In these films, viewers around the world will see Russian citizens, with absolutely different nationalities, with a loving and interested look. These are the joys, sorrows, hopes of those people who live in this place. Thanks to the Fund’s films, Russia can also look at itself from the outside”, Larisa Solonitsyna said. As another advantage, she named the internal dramaturgy of documentaries.
The Chairman of the Fund’s board also invited Russian Houses to participate in the International Caspian Film Forum, which will be held online on October 17 and 18.
