On March 29, the Agency hosted the tenth meeting of the Public Council at Rossotrudnichestvo.
The head of Rossotrudnichestvo Yevgeny Primakov noted that despite the events of last year, the suspension of the activities of some representative offices, Rossotrudnichestvo was able to competently rebuild its work.
Chairman of the Public Council at Rossotrudnichestvo Igor Chaika spoke about the activities of the council in the first quarter of 2023. The issues of rating countries in which violations of the rights of compatriots are recorded, increasing the number of appeals from citizens, support for military personnel, volunteers and mobilized citizens participating in a special military operation were raised. Work is underway on project documentation to ensure the repair work of a kindergarten in Armenia. Support was provided to the Center for International Interaction and Cooperation and the Council of Young Diplomats of the Russian Foreign Ministry. Educational programs in the field of environmental protection abroad are being implemented in cooperation with the Russian Environmental Operator.
During the meeting, new members of the commissions of the Public Council at Rossotrudnichestvo were approved, their work plans for 2023 were considered. The program documents on the issues of the Agency’s openness were also approved.
Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Dmitry Polikanov spoke in detail about the results of Rossotrudnichestvo’s activities in 2022. In particular, the project of “Non-state Russian Houses” has been developed. Agreements with Sierra Leone, South Korea and Uganda are being worked out. Together with ANO “Dialog”, Rossotrudnichestvo conducted a training course for employees on working with social networks in modern conditions. He also stressed that in cooperation with the Association of short film producers “Mosfilm” and the “Cinema Foundation”, it is planned to supply new film equipment in three representative offices this year.
Separately, questions were raised about the progress of work on the information content of the newly created official website of the Agency, as well as about projects in the field of digital security. According to Denis Rodinov, Head of the Information Technology Department, new domestic equipment and software will be introduced during the first half of 2023, as well as corporate data transmission networks will be updated.
At the end of the meeting, the participants discussed the project of Tatiana Shumova, a member of the Public Council at Rossotrudnichestvo, “The Russian language as the cultural code of the nation and the language of interethnic communication.” This year it is planned to be implemented in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
