On May 27, Valentin Malinin, winner of the International Scriabin Piano Prize 2023 in Grosseto and winner of the second prize of the International Tchaikovsky Competition 2023 in Moscow, will perform a solo concert at the Russian House in Rome. The pianist will perform works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Franz Schubert, Franz Liszt and Bela Bartok.
Valentin Malinin was born in 2001 in Nizhny Novgorod, graduated with honors from the Central Music School at the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory in Moscow in 2020 and is currently continuing his studies at the Conservatory of the same name.
Winner of the 62nd Jaén Prize International Piano Competition and the 62nd Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in Bolzano. Winner of the Grand Prix of the III Vladimir Krainev International Piano Competition in Moscow. He has performed at prestigious venues in Russia, including the Mariinsky Theatre, the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and the Moscow International House of Music, and participated in many international music festivals.
The musician collaborates with the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra, the E.Svetlanov State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia; he has performed with many famous conductors: Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Spivakov, Alexander Skulsky, Salvador Vasquez and many others. The young talent also writes music for piano, chamber ensemble, choir and orchestra. In February 2024, Valentin Malinin already performed in the concert hall of the Russian House in Rome. For those who did not attend his performance, the Russian House in Rome presents a new opportunity to see the rising star of the world stage.
The concert will open with the presentation of the exhibition «Art unites the world. Among the music and stars» masters of photography of classical music and musicians, the official photographer of the Tchaikovsky Competition — Yevgeny Yevtyukhov. He takes pictures of musicians during concerts and behind the scenes, masterfully conveying the shades of emotions of the artists. Among his works are portraits of Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Spivakov, Denis Matsuev, Yuri Bashmet and others.
