In December Sri Lanka’s tourist police officers from the city of Galle have been trained in the Russian language courses. The classes were organized by the Russian House in Colombo and were led by philologist and teacher Felix Fernando. During six months the course participants learned the basics of Russian language theory and acquired initial speaking skills. 20 police officers passed the final A1 level exam for Russian as a foreign language.
The courses were held on the basis of the ancient police academy of the port city, where the main tourist routes of Russian travelers intersect.
