On February 8, the opening ceremony of the historical and documentary exhibition «Diplomats of the Russian Empire in the territory of modern Serbia and Macedonia» took place at the Museum of the city of Skopje. Russian Embassy in Skopje, in cooperation with the Russian Scientific Institute and the Russian House in Belgrade, prepared the exposition organized as part of the celebration of the Day of the Diplomatic Worker, which is celebrated on February 10.
The exhibition, made up of archival photographs and documents, is dedicated to the work of the consuls of the Russian Empire in Macedonia and Serbia at the beginning of the twentieth century.
Among the numerous guests of the event were Chinese Ambassador Zhang Zuo, Serbian Ambassador Nevena Jovanovic, Honorary Consul of Russia in Ohrid Dr. Velimir Stoykovsky, Regional Manager of LUKOIL Macedonia Andrey Kuku, representatives of the diplomatic corps, political parties, the Church, the business community, scientific and cultural circles, public figures, Russian compatriots. The Director of the Skopje Museum, Dr. Panche Velkov, and the Ambassador of the Russian Federation, Sergey Bazdnikin, addressed the audience.
The exhibition will be open to the public until February 14th.
