According to Evgeny Malinovsky, Vladimir Vysotsky’s connection with Poland and his influence on Polish artists, including Jacek Kaczmarski, Jerzy Hoffman, Krzysztof Zanussi and Daniel Olbrychsky, is an important basis for today’s concert. Vysotsky, recognized as a poet of important changes’s era in Poland, has already become a part of its history, literature and culture. Warsaw is a city where many Polish friends and fans of the Russian poet and bard still live.
The musical evening coincided with the approaching 100th anniversary of the poet, novelist, screenwriter, bard and composer Bulat Okudzhava. His work is as multifaceted as Vysotsky’s. Thanks to the friendship of the two idols, who became symbols of an entire era, many songs were born, some of which were performed in concert.
This marked the beginning of a new project “Warsaw spring of song and poetry”, which will be a continuation of the long-standing Vladimir Vysotsky Song and Poetry Festival.
