On December 21, the thirteenth meeting of the Public Council at Rossotrudnichestvo was held at the Alexander Solzhenitsyn House for the Russian Diaspora.
The meeting began with a minute of silence in memory of the Deputy Chairman of the Public Council, Vladimir Chetiy, who passed away on November 27.
The Chairman of the Public Council, Igor Chaika, informed the audience about the results of the work of the Public Council for 2023. The block of public control and the expert advisory block of the main activities of the council were considered in detail.
In addition, the Chairman provided information on the activities carried out, which were funded by the Public Council from extra-budgetary sources. Among them are humanitarian assistance to residents of Donbass and participants of the Special military operation, the development of a design concept for non–governmental Russian Houses, training of representatives of public organizations from neighboring countries, pre-project work on the reconstruction of a kindergarten in the Armenian village of Fioletovo, the implementation of the “GITIS School in Santiago” project, etc.
Dmitry Polikanov, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, presented the results of the implementation of the Concept of openness of federal executive authorities, outlined the Agency’s plans for the coming year, and also spoke about plans to hold an international conference on food security on the African continent and the “Common sense” festival in India and China.
Andrey Belyaninov, Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, noted the fruitful cooperation with Russian Houses in the implementation of key Assembly projects abroad and spoke about their results. He also shared plans, including the creation of a digital ecosystem of the “North–South” transport corridor, the development of the Eurasian Book Agency and preparations for the World Public Summit.
During the meeting, the results of the work of the commissions of the Public Council in 2023 were also summed up.
