On April 20, the International educational campaign “Total Dictation” was held with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo abroad. Dictation texts help participants remember the rules of spelling and punctuation. It also has an educational nature.
Students of higher educational institutions, compatriots, students of Russian language courses, participants of the project “Russian teacher abroad”, journalists, doctors, entrepreneurs, as well as older Russian language lovers were able to test their knowledge.
Dictation was written in the Russian House in Ankara, the Russian House in Baku, the Russian House in Beirut, the Russian House in Berlin, the Russian House in Valletta, the Russian House in Dhaka, the Russian House in Chisinau, the Russian House in Madrid, the Russian House in Nicosia, the Russian House in New Delhi, the Russian House in Sofia, the Russian House in Hanoi.
The campaign covered many sites in different cities of the world:
• Abkhazia — Sukhumi Secondary School №2, Gudauta School №2 and Gyachrypsh school;
• Azerbaijan — Azerbaijan University of Languages, the”Summer School” in Khachmaz and the Branch of the Russian Community in Ganja;
• Armenia — Gyumri, Kapan, Karmirgyukh and several locations in Yerevan: the branch of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, the Russian-Armenian University and the Bryusov State University;
• Kazakhstan — Sputnik Kazakhstan press center;
• Kyrgyzstan — main building of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after Boris Yeltsin and the “Gazprom Kyrgyzstan School”;
• Lebanon — House of Culture of the Russian-Lebanese Diaspora in Batrun, Russian-Lebanese Cultural Center “Aurora” in Tripoli, Russian-Lebanese Cultural and Educational Center “Fabulous Club” in Tyre;
• Moldova — Pridnestrovian University in Tiraspol, university’s branch in Rybnitsa, in the cities of Bendery, Dubossary, Grigoriopol and Slobodzeya;
• Tajikistan — Dushanbe and Khojent, the Russian Cultural and Educational Center “Creation” in Tursunzade.

This year, Anna Matveeva, a writer, journalist and editor, became the author of the “Total Dictation” text. In 2024, the “Total Dictation” turns 20 years old. The capital was the city of Tomsk. In total, residents of 77 Russian regions and residents of 43 countries abroad joined the campaign.
