On March 27, an online meeting “Day of the Public Council at Rossotrudnichestvo” was held at the sites of Russian Houses abroad. Vladimir Urin, General Director of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, spoke about the development of the Russian theater industry in modern conditions. The meeting was attended by representatives of the art sector from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Egypt, Israel, Spain, Malaysia, Nicaragua, Singapore, USA, Chile and South Ossetia. The moderator was Dmitry Polikanov, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo.
Vladimir Urin noted that the new geopolitical realities primarily influenced the opera, since it is based on international cooperation. He also stressed that in some countries, musicians working with the Bolshoi Theater are under serious pressure. They also talked about strengthening the interaction of Russian theaters with friendly states. For example, the Bolshoi Ballet Troupe plans to tour in China, Belarus, Oman. In addition, collectives from Armenia and Uzbekistan will perform on the stage of the main Russian opera and Ballet theater, negotiations are underway with colleagues from Kazakhstan. Despite the new challenges, Russian musical theaters continue their high-quality and interesting work, Vladimir concluded. He also noted the importance of Rossotrudnichestvo in maintaining international contacts in the field of art.
