On the way to the XI All-Indian conference of Russian compatriots, the delegates of the forum saw a stray puppy on one of the streets of New Delhi. They slowed down, put the poor guy in a basket and took him to an animal shelter after the plenary session. The Russian women had a license allowing such actions in an Asian country.
Caring for four-legged people who do not have shelter, caring for Indian orphans and other types of volunteering – these topics were included in the agenda of the conference held at the Russian House in New Delhi. The delegates also discussed issues of preserving the Russian language and culture, receiving education according to Russian standards, and supporting the youth movement.
Alexander Nurizade, Executive Secretary of the Government Commission for Compatriots Abroad, sent greetings to the conference. The meeting was attended by Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov, Head of the Russian House in New Delhi Oleg Osipov, Head of the Consular Department Arthur Herbst.
Elena Barman, the president of the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots, and representatives of this organization in the largest cities of the country spoke about the work of the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots. The conference was also attended by the heads of the “Atlas” and Russian house Foundation associations.
