On November 19, with the support of the Russian Houses, participants from all over the world joined the annual international campaign “Geographical dictation”.
More than 1,600 people have written dictation in Tajikistan. In total, ten sites were organized in the republic, registered in Dushanbe, Khojent, Bokhtar, Isfara and Tursunzad, including in Russian Houses. Among the participants are schoolchildren, students, Russian military personnel, engineers and doctors, participants of the project “Russian teacher abroad”, journalists and bloggers.
Almost 120 residents of Kazakhstan tested their knowledge in geography: in Astana, Aktobe, Almaty, Zhezkazgan, Karaganda, Kokshetau, Sarani, Stepnogorsk, Semey, Taldykorgan, Temirtau and Uralsk. The Russian House in Almaty organized platforms for everyone together with the Almaty branch of the St. Petersburg University of Trade Unions, and the Russian House in Astana organized a remote platform so that as many people as possible from different cities of the country could join this educational campaign.
In India, the dictation was written at four sites at once: in New Delhi, an international educational campaign attracted Indians interested in Earth sciences, Russian compatriots in India, and schoolchildren. In Mumbai, more than two dozen Indians and Russian compatriots joined the action. The residents of Calcutta and Trivandrum also tested their knowledge.
In Bangladesh, students, journalists and specialists of various levels gathered at the site of the Russian House in Dhaka to take part in the dictation.
In Armenia, an international action was held in Yerevan, Gyumri and Kapan. In the capital, 50 people took part in the testing at the site of the Russian-Armenian University, in Gyumri – 40 people, and in Kapan 20 students of schools №3 and 13 wrote a dictation together with the Advanced Group of the Russian Foreign Ministry to prepare for the opening of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in the city. The event was held in the House of the Russian Book.
In Kyrgyzstan, participants took part in cities in the south of the country — in Osh and Mili-Sai. In Osh, the action took place at the sites of the Russian House and the branch of the Russian State Social University, as well as in the city of Maili-Sai, Jalal-Abad region, at the site of Gagarin School №4. In total, “Geographical dictation” was written by more than 400 people. These are schoolchildren and students, school teachers and university teachers, military personnel and pensioners, as well as participants of the project “Russian teacher abroad”.
An educational campaign was also held in Tokyo. The dictation was held at the school of the Russian Embassy in Japan.
Questions on the geography of Russia were also answered in Alexandria, Amman, Ankara, Brest, Colombo, Kuala Lumpur, Nicosia, Ulaanbaatar, Singapore. As a result, all participants were awarded certificates.
