More than 60 students of the Faculties of History and Journalism of Chennai Universities took part in the opening of the unique exhibition “Coal of Donbass”, dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day and the anniversary of the beginning of the Special Military Operation.
The exhibition includes portraits of the heroes of the Special Military Operation, volunteers, doctors, created by the artist Sergey Marchenko. The works are made on craft paper with coal, which symbolically echoes the theme of Donbass, the largest coal deposit called the “heart of Russia”.
The invited artist and art critic Susan Tottan Athi noted the uniqueness of the charcoal work of full-fledged portraits and the choice of colors that allow you to feel the emotions of each character.
Visitors were also invited to watch Vladimir Putin’s interview with Tucker Carlson. After that, an active discussion of key points took place with the participation of invited speakers – Oleg Avdeev, Consul General of Russia in Chennai, and Muthumanikam Matheshwaran, Air Marshal, Professor of history, founder of the “Peninsula Foundation” analytical center. The students participated so actively in the question and answer session that it was decided to allocate additional time to it.
The exhibition will be open until March 8 at the Russian House in Chennai.
