The festival was opened with short-length films of Aslan Ahmadov – Russian producer, director and photographer. His photo exhibition dedicated to Lyudmila Gurchenko, famous USSR artist, was received with a great interest. The screening of two pieces of animation took part after it – soviet classic “The Snow Maiden” with Japanese subtitles, based on the opera of the same name, and new Russian multiplication work “Fairy Tale Patrol".
Visitors enjoyed the performance of The Choir of the Moscow Sretensky Monastery of Russian religious music, as well as art of Russian outstanding balalaika performer Alexey Arkhipovsky and art of the pioneer of Russian ethnic jazz Oleg Kireyev.
During this festival Alexander Shulgin, Russian musician and poet, presented new short-length film “Checkmate” of British director – Jason Bradbury with music work of Alexander Shulgin.
The success of this festival is quite important from the perspective of upcoming Russia-Japan year of Culture in 2018.
