Exhibition ‘Peterhof – Summer Palace: Imperial Residences in Russia and China. Centuries of history and modern era’ in China

The Peterhof State Museum-Reserve will held an exhibition: ‘Peterhof – Summer Palace: Imperial Residences in Russia and China. Centuries of history and modern era’ in Yiheyuan Park, Beijing from July 25 till August 30, 2017.

At the center of the exhibition are picturesque landscapes of two brilliant palace and park complexes of Russia and China, created by the famous artist Alena Vasilyeva. The idea to compare the images of two famous ensembles of Russia and China - Peterhof and Yiheyuan is aimed at the rapprochement of the two cultures. The diversity of rare artworks created by the best representatives of the two peoples brings together these different ensembles. Both residences were favorite places for summer rest of several generations of imperial dynasties, and now are popular touristic centers.

The exhibition is the first joint project of the biggest park and palace complexes of two countries. It includes photo exposure of history of the Peterhof Museum-Reserve and modern vision of the complexes through the eyes of our contemporary.
