The Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) was created in September 2008 in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 1315 of September 6, 2008.

Россотрудничество реализует проекты, нацеленные на укрепление международных связей, тесное сотрудничество в гуманитарной сфере и формирование позитивного имиджа России за рубежом.

Проводимые мероприятия способствуют преодолению культурных барьеров, негативных стереотипов и иных препятствий на пути к развитию международного сотрудничества.

2002

On February 6, 2002, the Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree

"On the Russian Center of international scientific and cultural cooperation under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation."

1994

On the basis of the USFS a new structure has been created – the Russian Center of international scientific and cultural cooperation under the Government of the Russian Federation (Roszarubeztsentr), which received a status of a government body under the Government of the Russian Federation.

1925

ASCR united people of the Soviet science, literature, art, education and sports. The Society was founded by Narkomindel, the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, the All-Union Central Council of Trade-Unions, People's commissariat for education, the Academy of Fine Arts, the Museum of the Revolution, the All-Union Book Chamber and other organizations, as well as prominent representatives of science and culture. ASCR Charter was approved on August 8, 1925.
